Dr. Jaffe has been treating clients in a variety of capacities for the past 20 years. Her areas of expertise include: • Addiction • Bipolar Disorder • Group Therapy • Geriatric Issues • Personality Disorders • Psychodynamic psychotherapy • Psychological TestingEarly in her career Dr. Jaffe provided individual and group therapy to patients in community mental health, battered women’s shelters, psychiatric hospitals, and partial hospitalization programs in Ohio and Georgia. She obtained both her Masters and Doctoral degrees at Georgia State University in Atlanta 1991 and 1998, respectively. Following her Master’s Degree, she provided individual, couples, and group psychotherapy, as well as psychological testing in her private practice. She completed her Doctoral Internship at the Veteran’s Administration where she received extensive training in substance abuse. She then became Assistant Director then Director for two different substance abuse agencies in the Bay Area. In 2001 she began practicing privately in Sacramento. She again provided individual, group, and couples psychotherapy, and psychological testing. Although she has facilitated groups throughout her career, she obtained further training in group psychotherapy through the Northern California Group Psychotherapy Association and the American Group Psychotherapy Association. Her group experience includes battered women’s support groups, social skills groups with schizophrenic adults, intensive outpatient substance abuse groups with adolescents and adults, dual diagnosis education groups, women’s process groups, support groups for senior women, and coed process groups. |
