Research has shown that close ties and an active social life lead to positive overall mental and physical health, as well as our longevity. Yet, our attachments can be some of the most challenging and sometimes the most painful parts of our lives. You can experience problems in any relationship, not just with your partner, and people often have trouble with more than one kind of relationship.
